South Gateway Garden, Jewel, Changi Airport

First installed in the contemporary gallery that was part of the 2015 refurbishment of the Asian Civilisations Museum, it was gifted by NHB to Changi Airport in 2018 and moved to its current location in 2019. Still has some considerable presence.

Patron: National Heritage Board

The initial installation at the Asian Civilisations Museum was of two grains, but this installation only has one.

Set within South Gateway Garden, this work, by Singaporean artist Eng Tow, is gifted by the National Heritage Board. In its magnification, a humble grain of rice, an icon of Asia - inspires curiousity and reflection.
