J.T. Thomson

Born 1821, England, died 16 October 1884, New Zealand He was appointed surveyor of Singapore in 1841, at a very young age, and was resident in Singapore for the next twelve years. In addition to his surveying work, he laid out several key roads in Singapore, and designed a number of important buildings of the early colony, including the Horsburgh Lighthouse.
